These bearings are made in the U.S.A. of high quality stainless steal. They are faster, smoother and quieter than the stock bearings. Shimano reels come with ABEC 3 bearings as stock the quality of bearings are rated from ABEC 1 - ABEC 9 with 9 being the highest quality.
